Techi Linen Cart is Techmetics' housekeeping delivery robot: a wheeled autonomous base that engages a linen cart by itself, picks it up and drops it off at the floor and location it is sent to, on a schedule or on demand, so housekeeping staff no longer make runner trips for linen supplies. It belongs to the Techi line of service robots from Techmetics of Singapore, which shared 2-D SLAM navigation, a set of laser scanners for path planning and obstacle detection, a ROS-based software stack with Techmetics' own fleet software, and lift and automatic-door integration. Techmetics' 2020 product page gives a top speed of 1.3 m/s, a payload of up to 220 lb (about 100 kg; its 2017 page said 90 kg) and a size of 35.2 x 32.5 x 54.3 inches (about 894 x 826 x 1,379 mm). It can work with different cart variants and is aimed at linen, laundry and bulky-item delivery in hotel housekeeping. Park Avenue Rochester in Singapore became one of the first hotels in the country to put two Techi robots to work in July 2016, moving trolleys of duvets, pillowcases and towels to its 311 rooms; the government-reported cost was about SGD 100,000 per robot, part-funded by the Singapore Tourism Board.
