Khepera III is a 12 cm differential-drive mobile robot from K-Team, developed with help from EPFL's DISAL laboratory for indoor multi-robot experiments. Two independent motors drive it across lab floors, carpets and doorsteps. It has nine infrared sensors for obstacles, five ultrasonic sensors for long range and optional ground infrared sensors for line following. A KoreBot II board runs embedded Linux and an extension bus takes extra modules such as a gripper or laser range finder, while a swappable battery pack keeps experiments running.
