IronBot is a DIY robot learning kit for children aged 8 and up, using digital servos, a controller and a battery module. The same parts build a robotic arm, a pan-tilt head, a walking biped and a nine-axis humanoid, so children move from simple builds to harder ones. A phone app controls the robot over Bluetooth, lets children set the angle of each joint to create dance moves, and adds graphical programming based on Google Blockly. In humanoid form a phone mounted as the head becomes its brain, using the camera and microphone for dialogue, expressions and face recognition. Education versions come with course material.
