描述

The ErigoPro is Hocoma's robotic tilt table for very early rehabilitation - patients who are still bed-bound or dependent on a wheelchair. It is the only therapy Hocoma offers that combines three things at once: gradual verticalization, robotic leg mobilisation, and intensive sensorimotor stimulation through cyclic loading of the legs. Bringing a patient upright too quickly after a severe injury risks orthostatic collapse; the Erigo raises them in stages while the robotic legs keep stepping, so blood keeps moving and the cardiovascular system is challenged progressively rather than abruptly. What separates the Pro from the Basic model is functional electrical stimulation: on the ErigoPro the FES is fully synchronised with the robotic leg movement and driven from the graphical interface, with stimulation amplitude adjustable per channel, so muscles contract in time with the step rather than independently of it. Hocoma's technical data sheet gives the ErigoPro a verticalization angle adjustable from 0 to 90 degrees, a range of motion of 0 to 45 degrees that can be set symmetrically or asymmetrically, and hip extension/flexion from -10 to +10 degrees. It adapts continuously to leg lengths of 69 to 104 cm and the bed height adjusts from 56 to 84 cm for transfers. Maximum patient weight is 135 kg. The device itself measures 227 x 86 x 242 cm and weighs about 300 kg, needs a 400 x 240 x 245 cm footprint, and runs on 220-240 V or 110-120 V at 50-60 Hz. Hocoma's stated outcome is that immobile patients can build lower-limb muscle strength and reach greater functional independence in activities of daily living sooner than they otherwise would. A flexible patient harness, several leg-cuff sizes and footplates adjustable for plantar and dorsal flexion and for pronation and supination cover the range of body sizes and positions. Hocoma sells the Erigo in two configurations. The ErigoBasic provides the verticalization, the robotic leg stepping and the cyclic loading; the ErigoPro adds the synchronised functional electrical stimulation described above. They share the same chassis and the technical data above, and Hocoma's current catalogue lists only the Pro.
