The Explore D1 is CETC's full-size industrial humanoid, and it is pitched at replacing people on production lines and in logistics rather than at research labs or showrooms. It stands 170 cm, weighs 70 kg and carries 43 degrees of freedom, and the specification that stands out is the joint: 352.3 N·m of peak torque with a heat-pipe-assisted cooling system built into the motor area, which is the kind of detail you would expect from a company whose parent institute has spent decades on precision motors. Its arms lift 5 kg each or 8 kg together. CETC markets a 'sport mode' in which the robot rolls over, stands back up, runs, handles 20-degree obstacles and 20 cm steps, and it runs a set of general-purpose embodied-AI skills — grasping unfamiliar rigid, deformable and textureless objects, opening doors and performing push-pull operations, and planning navigation without preset routes by dragging and dropping operator modules. Voice interaction is a custom module built with iFLYTEK, and navigation combines point-cloud mapping with 10 cm positioning accuracy. CETC lists it as fully open for customer development.
