Propulsion comes from a paddle-wheel driven by brushless motors, chosen for durability because there is no brush contact to wear out, and the design pulls floating dirt and debris into a 5 L debris basket - large enough that it does not need emptying every few days. Ultrasonic detectors recognise the pool walls and steer away from them, which both protects the skimmer and the pool surround and lets it work closer to the edges for genuine edge-to-edge coverage.
