UBTECH UWorld U1 humanoid robot companion

UBTECH Robotics (Shenzhen, HK:9880) launched UWORLD, a consumer sub-brand, and opened JD.com presales on June 2, 2026 for its U1 lifelike android series. Male variant: 183cm/42kg; Female: 168cm/35.2kg. Both feature 88 degrees of freedom, silicone skin and hair, camera-tracking eyes, Wi-Fi, and 2–4 hour battery. Price: ~$30,000 (final pricing June 30 launch event). 3,000 yuan (~$450) deposit required. Preorders: over 2,110 units within six days, per Gasgoo (June 7, 2026). Critical constraints confirmed by Gasgoo and Interesting Engineering: the U1 cannot climb stairs, handle rough terrain, or perform household chores; it explicitly does not support secondary (custom) development. Positioned for "emotional companionship." Industrial clients include Airbus, Texas Instruments, NIO, and FAW-Volkswagen through the Walker S2 line. First-batch deliveries: September 15, 2026.
