Asahi Shimbun covers Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ prototype of Home LEO, a real dog-shaped robot built in Japan to support older adults at home. In the demonstration the physical robot walks, adjusts its height, recognizes nearby people, and recalls preferences from conversation. It also fetches a misplaced smartphone and returns to a charging pose, showing assistance beyond passive monitoring. Kawasaki is running trials and aims to sell the robot in fiscal 2028.
