Beyond the hype: what will it take to make humanoid robots useful? | Francesco Ferro, PAL Robotics

Francesco Ferro, CEO of Barcelona-based PAL Robotics, talks with the European Innovation Council about what it actually takes for European humanoid and service robots to be useful. Drawing on more than 20 years building real platforms that work alongside people, he contrasts hype with deployment in healthcare, elder care, agriculture, and industrial work. He explains how AI has cut robot programming from weeks to hours, and why Europe still needs its own safety- and regulation-aware path in physical AI rather than copying the US or China.
