DESCRIPTION

Zippy is a Delivery-Robots from Addverb Technologies. It is built for Intralogistics, Material-Handling, Sorting. Key figures: 240 min runtime, 6 kg payload.

Zippy is Addverb Technologies' robotic sorter: a fleet of small autonomous robots that each carry a parcel from an induction station to its destination chute or bin, replacing a fixed cross-belt or loop sorter. It is used in parcel hubs, e-commerce and retail fulfilment centres and for reverse logistics. Each parcel is scanned at induction, and the robot follows ground markers to the right destination and tips the parcel into its chute. A fleet management system assigns routes, manages traffic and reroutes robots around obstacles; capacity grows by adding robots, and one robot stopping does not halt the others. Systems run at ground level or on a table-top platform. The Zippy 6 carries 6 kg at up to 2 m/s, runs up to 4 hours and recharges in 24 minutes. It uses differential drive with on-the-spot turning, a ToF laser sensor for obstacle detection, +/-10 mm docking precision and +/-20 mm positioning accuracy. Larger Zippy 10, 30, 40 and X variants exist. Addverb quotes up to 30,000 sorts per hour and 99.9% accuracy; at Mondial Relay in France, 72 Zippy 10 robots sort over 3,000 parcels an hour on a robot-as-a-service model.
