WEASEL Lite is a simplified, plug-and-play version of SSI SCHAEFER's WEASEL automated guided vehicle, aimed at small and medium-sized companies taking their first step into automated internal transport. It carries bins, cartons and similar dimensionally stable goods of up to 35 kg at up to 1 m/s, at 2 to 50 C, linking goods-in inspection, buffering, assembly, packing and shipping. Unlike the WEASEL Classic it needs no central fleet controller: the vehicles communicate by Bluetooth and are controlled decentrally from the WEASEL Lite app on a tablet or smartphone. Users stick the optical floor track down themselves, can plan routes on paper or with the free WEASEL Lite Designer, and can commission a system themselves in about 30 minutes; SSI SCHAEFER offers delivery of vehicles with a starter kit within a week. Fleets can grow by adding vehicles, a fleet controller can be added for more throughput, and an upgrade to WEASEL Classic is possible at any time. Connections to vertical lift modules are also available.
