Strider M3

DESCRIPTION

Strider M3 is an Industrial-Robot from Strider Robotics. It is built for Data Collection, Material-Handling, Inspection. Key figures: 20 kg payload.

Strider M3 is an autonomous quadruped robot from Strider Robotics, a Bengaluru spin-off of IISc's StochLab, built for inspection and material movement on industrial sites where wheeled robots struggle. It walks on four legs over uneven ground, stairs and rubble and carries sensor payloads around a facility, sending live readings to a remote control room. The robot uses high-torque actuators, and press reports say the M3 was designed and manufactured in-house; the company says more than 80 per cent of its component cost is Indian content. Its standard configuration carries about 20 kg, and it has been tested with a 40 kg payload. In a 2026 demonstration in Bengaluru it towed a Honda Amaze car, a test the company describes as reaching Technology Readiness Level 6. Supported payloads include thermal cameras, LiDAR and gas detectors. Strider targets power plants and switchyards, oil and gas, mining, shipping and infrastructure, with tasks such as gauge reading, leak and hotspot detection, partial-discharge measurement, vibration and temperature monitoring, sample collection and point-to-point material transport. Field pilots are under way with an unnamed oil and gas company and an unnamed automotive manufacturer.
