DESCRIPTION

The L5 is the only Shenhao machine that touches the equipment rather than merely watching it. A six-degree-of-freedom arm with a modular, swappable multifunctional tool at the wrist performs emergency opening and routine closing of switch cabinets, operates protective device panels and works ground knives at 200 N·m or more — the jobs that otherwise put a person in front of live switchgear during a fault. Finding the handle is the hard part, and that is done by a 3D stereo vision system doing automatic target localisation and pose estimation, combined with multi-sensor flexible control, to reach an operational positioning accuracy of ±0.5 mm up to 2200 mm above the floor. It inspects as well as operates, reading dial meters to better than 5% error and measuring temperature to ±2°C, so a single machine covers both duties. It navigates itself by multi-sensor fusion and runs five hours or more.
