Diakont RODIS robotic in-line inspection crawler

DESCRIPTION

RODIS is an Industrial-Robot from Diakont. It is built for Inspection, In-line inspection of unpiggable pipelines.

RODIS is Diakont's fleet of robotic in-line inspection crawlers for gas and liquid pipelines that conventional free-swimming pigs cannot inspect. Launched and retrieved from a single access point, a crawler travels up to 1,800 feet into pipelines from 8 to 55 inches in diameter, through verticals, tight and mitre bends, back-to-back elbows, unbarred tees, diameter and wall-thickness changes, cased sections and road or river crossings, so operators can avoid excavation and meet federal pipeline safety rules (49 CFR Parts 192 and 195). Each crawler combines several non-destructive sensors in one run - ShearWave EMAT ultrasonic testing for internal and external corrosion, wall thickness and laminations, EMAT crack detection, a girth-weld scanner, laser profilometry for dents and internal anomalies, and high-resolution cameras - and streams the data in real time. Diakont's case studies describe tethered, bidirectional tank-tracked crawlers whose third upper track extends to stabilise the tool in bends and inclines.

FEATURES

  • Pipe diameter range 8-55 inches
  • up to 1,800 feet from a single launch point
  • Negotiates verticals, <1.5D and mitre bends, back-to-back elbows, unbarred tees, diameter and wall-thickness changes, cased piping
  • Sensors: ShearWave EMAT UT (corrosion, wall thickness, laminations), EMAT CD (crack detection), girth weld scanner, laser profilometry, high-resolution cameras
  • Real-time data
  • deliverable is a full pipeline feature list (thickness, welds, weld defects, wall anomalies, fittings)
  • Supports API 1163 in-line inspection and 49 CFR Parts 192/195 integrity management
  • Nitrogen purging to below 10% oxygen before powering on in liquid lines
