DESCRIPTION
Robot Cleaner RC200DZ is a Cleaning-Robots from Makita. It is built for Cleaning, Dry dust collection on hard floors and tile carpet. Key figures: 6.6 kg, 200 min runtime, released 2015.
The Makita Robot Cleaner RC200DZ (RoBoPRO) is Makita's first commercial robot vacuum, developed jointly with Sharp and launched in Japan in October 2015. It pairs Sharp's autonomous driving and sensing technology with Makita's 18 V lithium-ion battery platform, so the same batteries that run Makita's impact drivers and vacuums power the robot. With two 5.0 Ah batteries it runs for about 200 minutes and covers up to about 500 m2, and it also works on a single battery. Two large side brushes sweep dirt in from the wall edge to a large power brush, and debris goes into a 2.5-litre dust box that lifts out from the top. It drives at up to 0.3 m/s in random or pattern mode, sensor-wall tape keeps it out of areas or splits a big floor into sections, and a remote control changes modes and beeps to locate the robot. A timer starts it after 1, 3 or 5 hours, and a fan-off mode roughly doubles runtime for picking up larger debris. The robot measures 460 x 460 x 180 mm and weighs 6.6 kg, or 7.8 kg with two batteries. It sold at JPY 115,000 before tax for the body alone. In the Tokyo Building Maintenance Association's 2017 benchmark it was praised for corner pickup and total cost, but it has no mapping, so it cannot follow a cleaning plan and suits open floors with few obstacles.
