DESCRIPTION
Revo-i is a Medical-Robots from meerecompany. It is built for Surgery, Robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery. Key figures: 7 degrees of freedom, released 2017.
Revo-i is meerecompany's robotic system for minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, the first surgical robot developed in Korea and the first medical robot designated an Innovative Medical Device by Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. It has three parts. At the master console, outside the sterile field, the surgeon sits at an ergonomic station with adjustable headrest, armrests and foot pedals, views the field in magnified 3D HD and drives the instruments and camera with multi-jointed control arms, a touch pad and seven foot pedals that also switch instruments and apply electrosurgical energy. The patient-side operation cart carries a camera arm with a 3D endoscope and three instrument arms built around a remote centre of motion at the trocar, which limits pressure on the abdominal wall; it filters tremor, and staff load the reusable instruments with a clutch button and move the cart on its mobile base. A vision cart with a 27-inch HD touchscreen, telestration and a KARL STORZ 3D endoscope and camera control unit shares the view with the OR team. Free-wrist instruments with seven degrees of freedom include monopolar hook, scissors and dissector, bipolar Maryland and fenestrated forceps, several graspers, needle holders, clip appliers and the Revo SONIC ultrasonic scalpel. meerecompany pitches Revo-i on lower per-procedure costs and offers training on the Revo-sim simulator, quarterly inspections and an open R&D programme for new instruments.
