DESCRIPTION
R-GAIT is a Medical-Robots from BTL Industries. It is built for Medical-Assistance, Helping, Gait rehabilitation for stroke, TBI, cerebral palsy, MS and Parkinson's. Key figures: 175 kg payload.
R-GAIT is BTL's end-effector robotic gait trainer for neurorehabilitation. Instead of an exoskeleton strapped to the legs, motorised footplates guide the patient's feet through the walking cycle while the patient is supported from above, so people can start relearning to walk early after a stroke or injury. Flexible footplates actively flex the metatarsal joint, the pelvis moves in three dimensions (vertical, horizontal and rotational), and dynamic body-weight support is synchronised with the rhythm of walking to reproduce a natural gait. Patients can take up to 1,500 steps in under 30 minutes, and setup takes less than five minutes. It works in passive or assistive mode and suits patients weighing up to 175 kg as well as children from 80 cm tall. Sixteen sensors in the footplates give therapists real-time feedback, motivational on-screen exercises keep patients engaged, and session data is stored in a patient database for export. BTL positions it for stroke, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease and other neurological conditions.
