DESCRIPTION
Proprio Foot is a Medical-Robots from Össur. It is built for Medical-Assistance, Helping, Powered lower-limb prosthesis (ankle-foot). Key figures: 1 degrees of freedom.
Proprio Foot is Össur's motorized microprocessor ankle-foot prosthesis. First launched in 2006 as the world's first microprocessor ankle, it pairs a motor-driven ankle with the carbon-fibre Pro-Flex foot module. On every step the motor actively lifts the toe during swing for extra clearance and repositions the foot for heel contact; in field testing Össur reports 46% fewer stumbles and 70% fewer falls than users' previous prostheses. Sensors continuously track surface angle and acceleration so the ankle pre-positions for inclines, declines and stairs, with 33 degrees of motorized range of motion. Relax mode and chair exit mimic natural ankle motion when sitting and standing up, and auto-alignment re-sets the ankle for different shoe heights at the touch of a button. The current version is fully submersible to IP67 in fresh and salt water, runs up to two days on a charge, supports users up to 125 kg and carries a three-year warranty. It is set up and personalised through the Össur Logic app and is compatible with Össur's Unity vacuum suspension.
