DESCRIPTION

PADBOT Companion Beam is a Companion Robot from KMS Partner Co., Ltd.. It is built for Assistance, Companionship, Entertainment.

PADBOT, shown under the project name "Tamrang" after the first star of the Big Dipper, is KMS Partner's attempt to fold a beam projector into a home companion robot rather than treating the two as separate products. The company builds the ZEUS line of smart mini projectors, and PADBOT is where that optics work meets a mobile robot base: conversation, projection, security and learning in one unit. It holds a two-way conversation using ChatGPT 4.0 with emotion recognition and empathetic response, and answers natural-language questions about weather, food recommendations and everyday matters. In projection mode it turns a wall into a 150-inch Full HD display for entertainment, education and remote presentations; a voice command will put fitness-guidance video on the wall to follow along with. It moves on drive wheels underneath, can be driven from a smartphone, and uses LiDAR for anti-collision and cliff detection. The care case is what KMS Partner is really aiming at. Front- and rear-facing dual cameras support video calling and home CCTV, alongside radar-based motion sensors and a thermal-imaging camera module. If no motion is detected for a set period, or if body temperature drops below normal, the robot automatically sends an emergency alert to a medical institution or a designated contact. The intended users are households needing care - seniors living alone, young household heads and dual-income couples - plus welfare institutions trying to catch unattended emergencies and solitary deaths among elderly people. PADBOT was exhibited at IFA 2026 in Berlin (4-8 September) in the Korea Pavilion at IFA NEXT, organised by the Korea Electronics Association with support from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Digital patent applications are under examination, and KMS Partner says it is in discussion with medical-device developers while it settles the launch schedule, targeting as early as 2027 or CES the following year at the latest.
