DESCRIPTION
OptiSweep is a Mobile-Robots from FORTNA. It is built for Intralogistics, Material-Handling, Transport.
FORTNA OptiSweep is a robotic solution for clearing small-parcel sorters in high-volume e-commerce and sortation centres. Mobile robots collect packages straight from the sorter divert locations and carry them to a purpose-built tipping arm, which deposits them for bulk consolidation and outbound processing. It replaces manual sorter close-out and legacy equipment such as bombay sorters. Centralising the bagging area means operators no longer bend and reach into bags or walk long distances. FORTNA reports about 60% less manual labour for sorter clearing, round-the-clock operation and a payback period of around two years. Throughput scales from 4,000 to more than 35,000 pieces per hour. FORTNA WCS software orchestrates the workflow, coordinating the mobile robots, which navigate by barcodes on the floor, and interfacing with the sorter and consolidation stations. The modular design suits both new and existing buildings, can be deployed in phases, and works with different sorter types.
