The Konecranes Noell A-SPRINTER is an automated sprinter carrier for horizontal container transport in greenfield automated terminals. Like the A-STRAD it is based on its manual counterpart and benefits from the Noell diesel-electric drive system, whose precise manoeuvring is a particular advantage in automated operation, and Konecranes supplies it complete with interchange control, fence control systems and software. Four versions are offered: A-NSC 424 E and 624 E with diesel-electric hoisting and travel drives, and the 424 EHY and 624 EHY with diesel-battery hybrid drives. The 424 models lift 40 tonnes and the 624 models 50 tonnes (60 tonnes in exceptional cases, depending on the spreader); all stack 1-over-1 and travel at up to 32 km/h, electronically limited for safety.
