DESCRIPTION

Multi-Level Shuttle System is a Warehouse-Robots from Craftsman Storage Systems. It is built for Intralogistics, Material-Handling, Inventory. Key figures: 450 kg, 40 kg payload, released 2024.

The Multi-Level Shuttle (MLS) System is an automated storage and retrieval system for bins, totes and small cartons from Craftsman Storage Systems. Shuttle units run on tracks at different levels of the racking, and a vertical lift moves goods between levels, so several shuttles can store and pick at the same time. Each shuttle uses a telescopic fork with fingers to pull bins in and push them out. Servo motors drive it along the aisle at up to 180 m/min and lift loads at 42 m/min, with acceleration and deceleration of up to 1.5 m/s2 in travel and 0.5 m/s2 in lift. Vertical positions are absolute and horizontal positioning is by laser, and power comes from a four-pole busbar. A Craftsman warehouse control system linked to the customer's warehouse management system directs the shuttles over industrial wireless. A shuttle carries up to 40 kg in bins up to 600 x 400 mm and weighs about 450 kg. Safety equipment includes rubber bumpers and an on-board bin position sensor. Craftsman targets the system at high-SKU order picking in e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, manufacturing, textiles and third-party logistics.
