DESCRIPTION

HighMate Ex is an Industrial-Robot from Shihe Technology. It is built for Cleaning. Key figures: 90 kg.

HighMate Ex is the explosion-proof member of Shihe's climbing range, built for the one environment where the robot's own motors are the hazard: chemical storage tanks and oil depots, where flammable vapour makes a spark unacceptable. Shihe says it was the first Chinese chemical anti-corrosion robot to obtain explosion-proof certification, rated Ex db ib IIB T4 Gb. Like the rest of the range it is a common magnetic-adhesion chassis carrying an interchangeable work module, and it is sold in more than one surface-preparation configuration — the maker's product page presents it water jetting, while its solution deck details a sandblasting build. Both are the same machine with a different module fitted, which is the point of the platform: dry and wet sandblasting, medium and low-pressure water washing, open ultra-high-pressure water and vacuum blasting all mount to one chassis, with the magnet height adjustable to tune adhesion for the surface. In the sandblasting configuration the blast and recovery unit sits centrally and a multi-degree-of-freedom swing arm adjusts angle and standoff to reach awkward geometry — tank exteriors, tank floors, floating-roof surfaces and interior walls. Surface quality is quoted at WJ2.0/WA2.5, equivalent to Sa2, at 45 to 55 m2/h. The machine is 739 x 1,079 x 579 mm, weighs 90 kg and runs at up to 9 m/min on 1.2 kW at 48 V DC, with flexible magnetic adhesion covering more than 90 per cent of tank surfaces. Shihe lists Sinopec, Tianjin Vopak and Qilu Petrochemical among users.
