DESCRIPTION
FX250 is a Cleaning-Robots from Discovery Robotics. It is built for Cleaning, Autonomous vacuuming and sweeping of large commercial floors. Key figures: 480 min runtime.
The FX250 was Discovery Robotics' autonomous commercial floor-cleaning robot, built from the ground up to clean large indoor spaces such as airports, convention centres, schools, malls and hospitals without human intervention, while operating safely among people. Its main chassis takes interchangeable tool modules that slide in on tracks from their own trolley: a vacuum tool with over 96% debris pick-up on carpet and hard floor and an 8-gallon bag (12-gallon optional), and a quieter sweeper tool for larger debris on hard floors with an 8-gallon bin, both with HEPA filtration. Each tool cleans at 1.3 mph and 10,000 sq ft per hour, and the lithium-ion (NMC) battery gives 8 hours with the vacuum and up to 10 hours with the sweeper. A 3D LiDAR builds a 360-degree map of the area, seeing up to 100 m, and ultrasonic sensors detect glass and other transparent surfaces so it can steer around bins, furniture and people. A setup team maps the site once; users then build task lists, and in autonomous mode the FX250 covers over 95% of each assigned area in an overlapping lawnmower pattern with wall following, sends optional text and email alerts, and returns home when finished. A Teach and Repeat mode lets users drive a custom route with a joystick for it to repeat, and the company held patents on its remote planning and locally adaptive service mapping and its interchangeable tool system. It was made in the USA, and Diversey Care held exclusive rights to sell it in the Americas and Europe.
