The FarmRobo R1 is a battery-electric, four-wheeled field robot for Indian smallholdings, made by FarmRobo Technologies of Hyderabad. One operator drives it by remote control between crop rows and swaps tools for each job, so a single person can weed, spray, till, mow and haul without a crew. The maker says it is designed so that women can operate it easily. Attachments include a rotary tiller for 3-4 inch tillage, a brush cutter, a stubble mower with roller, gorru (duckfoot) and guntaka (cultivator) blades, a boom sprayer with 10-15 ft reach, a sweep sprayer covering 30 ft over 180 degrees with 80-150 micron droplets and a 100 or 250 litre tank, and a trailer for up to 800 kg. The current version has semi-autonomous cruise mode, row keeping and follow-me, with camera row guidance and RTK support. Fleet monitoring gives live status and alerts, and software is updated over the air. The R1 weighs about 300 kg, is IP67 rated and runs 4-6 hours on a 120 Ah swappable battery. It suits rows spaced 3-9 ft in dryland vegetable, horticulture and row crops. FarmRobo says it sprays an acre in 15-20 minutes and weeds an acre in 1-1.5 hours. It launched commercially in 2024 and is used by Natco Pharma at Mekaguda, Kapil Agro Farms at Moinabad and Amanya Farms at Siddipet. The R1v2, with full autonomy, is open for pre-booking.
