DESCRIPTION

Drill Floor Robot DFR-1500 is an Industrial-Robot from Canrig. It is built for Heavy-Item-Handling, Heavy-Lifting, Material-Handling. Key figures: 13000 kg, 1500 kg payload, 7 degrees of freedom.

The Canrig Drill Floor Robot (DFR-1500) is a fully electric, seven-axis robot that automates pipe and tool operations on a rig's drill floor to reduce manual labour there. It handles tripping (early studies indicate slips-to-slips times under a minute), BHA make-up and break-out, casing, tubing, liners and screens, completion components, and plug-and-abandonment work, picking up and laying down drill pipe. Automated grippers, spinners, clamps and other handling tools are exchanged rapidly, and the robot uses these 'smart' tools to transfer power and communicate with other rig components. Its Robot Tool Spinner Gripper (RTSG) spins lifting subs, crossovers and stabilisers directly into or out of the stick-up. It is designed for operation in explosion-hazard (EX) zones, can run automatically or under manual control, and has self-contained controls and standard electric components for easy installation and low maintenance. The brochure gives a 1,500 kg payload (1,200 kg with the RTSG at 2,500 mm), +/-1 mm repeatability, accuracy of +/-2 mm at 25% load and +/-5 mm at full load, a gripper range of 2 7/8 to 10 3/4 inches, dimensions of 3,170 mm high, 1,620 mm wide and 5,200 mm long, a weight of 13,000 kg (13,400 kg with tool and cables) and power of about 80 kW peak at 400-480 VAC with energy recovery.
