DESCRIPTION

Compact XL is an Industrial-Robot from Mylab. It is built for Analysis, Dispensing, General-Automation. Key figures: 275 kg.

Compact XL is a benchtop molecular-lab automation system from Mylab that takes patient samples through nucleic-acid extraction to PCR-ready tubes without manual pipetting. It is intended to let smaller laboratories run molecular tests without building a full molecular lab. Inside an enclosed cabinet, an automated liquid-handling system dispenses samples and reagents with non-contact disposable syringes, extracts nucleic acids using magnetic-bead chemistry and sets up the RT-PCR tubes. A dual-deck layout lets two protocols run at the same time, with 32 separate channels so that up to 32 samples are processed per run, each in its own lane to prevent cross-contamination. Cartridges are opened automatically, the workflow is software driven and built-in UV lamps sanitise the chamber. The console measures 70 cm high, 130 cm wide and 77 cm deep, weighs 275 kg and draws 1,500 W from a 180-240 V supply. It handles sample volumes from 30 ul to 1 ml and supports plasma, serum, tissue, sputum and swab specimens. Networked units can process 96 samples simultaneously, and Mylab says linked systems reach 50 to more than 1,000 samples a day. It is used for infectious-disease and cancer testing, blood-bank and genetic testing, and food and veterinary testing.
