DESCRIPTION

Awabot One is a Mobile-Robots from Awabot. It is built for Information, Helping, Telepresence. Key figures: 17.7 kg, 480 min runtime.

Awabot One, formerly sold as Beam, is a mobile telepresence robot that lets a remote user drive around an office, classroom or home from a computer, tablet or smartphone and talk with people face to face on its screen. Its height is chosen for natural conversation with people who are seated or standing, and Awabot describes it as the most widely deployed telepresence robot in the world. Four microphones with noise reduction and automatic volume control, and two wide-angle HDR cameras below the screen - one for the conversation, one for navigation - give clear audio and video, and users can share static or moving content from their computer. It drives at up to about 3 km/h, steered with guide lines in the Awabot app, and its wheels climb steps of about 2 cm such as door sills. Dual WiFi cards hand over between access points without breaking the video, with 4G as an option, and communications are end-to-end encrypted. At the end of a session automatic parking assistance takes it back to its dock. It weighs 17.7 kg - light enough for one person to carry - stands 1.35 m tall, 32 cm wide and 41.7 cm long, can be tilted 45 degrees without falling, runs 8 hours and recharges fully in 6 hours. A management platform handles user invitations, groups, temporary access and activity reporting.
