DESCRIPTION

ApolloKnee is a Medical-Robots from Corin Group. It is built for Medical-Assistance, Surgery, Robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty. Key figures: released 2024.

ApolloKnee is Corin's robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty system on the Corin Apollo platform, designed to go beyond alignment and deliver personalised dynamic balance of the knee. It combines planning, robotic implementation and continuous learning in one workflow. Before any bone is cut, the BalanceBot - which Corin calls the first and only robotic dynamic knee balancer - senses and tensions both compartments of the knee through its full range of motion, and a planning algorithm autonomously proposes a plan for any alignment preference. The Apollo Robot, a low-profile, patient-mounted haptic cutting system, then makes both the femoral and tibial cuts to that plan. The imageless workflow runs from a compact Apollo station and is controlled by intra-operative gestures or a draped touchscreen tablet, and case data flows automatically to CorinConnect for follow-up, research and benchmarking against the CorinRegistry. The Apollo platform and ApolloKnee software hold US FDA 510(k) clearance, EU MDR approval and Australian TGA registration.

FEATURES

  • BalanceBot: robotic dynamic knee balancer - pre-resection balance assessment through the full range of motion with dual-compartment sensing and tensing
  • Apollo Robot: low-profile, patient-mounted haptic cutting system for femoral and tibial cuts
  • Autonomous planning algorithm that accepts any alignment preference
  • Imageless TKA workflow controlled by intra-operative gestures or a draped touchscreen tablet
  • Compact Apollo station with multi-application capability (also runs ApolloHipX)
  • Automatic case-data collection to CorinConnect
  • benchmarking against the CorinRegistry
  • Built on more than a decade of robotic TKA heritage (OMNIBotics)
  • Regulatory: US FDA 510(k) clearance, EU MDR approval, AU TGA registration
