DESCRIPTION
AI Rock Loader is an Industrial-Robot from Fujita Corporation. It is built for Loading, Material-Handling, Tunnel muck loading (zuri-dashi) in mountain tunnelling.
The AI Rock Loader is Fujita's AI-equipped loading machine for mountain tunnel construction. After each blast, broken rock (muck) carried back from the excavation face is piled in front of the machine; an excavating boom rakes it in and a discharge belt conveyor sends it straight out of the back into heavy dump trucks or onto a continuous belt conveyor. Sensing equipment in front of the cab and an on-board GPU 'AI automatic driving' unit let the machine run the whole sequence - raking in and loading - without an operator, cutting the mucking crew from five people to four (about 20%). AI sensing detects people and other machines and stops the loader automatically, and it can run in AI, semi-automatic or manual mode. Because muck is cleared from the face quickly, the work area is freed sooner and the crew can move on to installing supports, shortening the tunnelling cycle. The machine works with both dump-truck and continuous-conveyor haulage.
