DESCRIPTION
AeroBot is a Mobile-Robots from KNAPP. It is built for Intralogistics, Material-Handling, Picking. Key figures: 35 kg payload.
KNAPP's AeroBot is a storage robot at the heart of the AeroBot automated storage system, a combined storage and picking solution for e-commerce, micro-fulfilment, omnichannel fulfilment and manufacturing. The AeroBot is the only moving component of the system, which KNAPP says makes it quick to start up and simple to service. Each AeroBot navigates the whole system on its own using lidar, with no guide lines. It drives lengthwise and crosswise along the floor beneath the racks to find the most efficient route, then climbs vertically up the racks using a friction drive. A small satellite robot riding on top of it, the SatBot, moves containers and trays of up to 35 kg in and out of storage, including quadruple-deep storage, so cartons, existing containers, packaged goods and bulk material can share one system. The robots work independently and each can reach every part of the system. The robot measures 700 x 500 x 400 mm. Racks can be up to 12 m high, with differing heights in one system to fit sloping ceilings, beams and irregular floor plans, and storage space and robot count scale independently. KNAPP's KiSoft software coordinates the AeroBots and SatBots and links the system to WMS/WCS, goods-to-person work stations, picking robots and sorters. The design complies with FM fire-protection standards.
