ZIZAI is Nippon Signal's multi-function handling vehicle for heavy and dangerous work at height. The dual-arm type mounts a multi-function humanoid robot - a camera-equipped upper body with two arms - on the boom of a truck, and an operator in a cockpit on the vehicle controls it, so people no longer have to climb to the work. Each arm grips up to 20 kg, and the two arms with the head camera allow fine work as well as lifting. Nippon Signal targets railways (painting supports, felling trees, fitting heavy parts and signals), roads and tunnels (lighting and rack inspection, rock-bolt insertion), construction, and power distribution work such as cutting and connecting cables and clearing nests and snow. It can be built on road vehicles or on railway-maintenance vehicles. Nippon Signal says ZIZAI entered operational use in July 2024.
