Underwater Anie is Topy Industries' underwater survey and cleaning robot for water-supply reservoirs and tanks. It cleans and inspects without draining the reservoir and without workers or divers entering the water, which is safer and more hygienic and addresses the shortage of divers. The crawler-driven robot, built on Topy's own undercarriage design for good rough-terrain performance, crawls along the bottom vacuuming a 400 mm wide path. It is used to clean municipal distribution reservoirs, photographed with the Japan Water Robot Cleaning Association, and Topy is extending it to sedimentation tanks, storage tanks and factory water-treatment facilities.
