설명
ALPHA is a humanoid built for the one job almost nobody wants: standing at a recycling conveyor picking rubbish out of the stream. TeknTrash's argument is blunt — human sorters manage 30 to 40 picks a minute but tire and misjudge, roughly a quarter of single-stream material ends up contaminated and unsellable, and the sector's injury rates are far above the UK average. The machine is a chest with two arms, a head and a lifting column on a wheeled base. Each arm has six degrees of freedom and a gripper — chosen over suction cups, which need constant cleaning in this environment — and together they lift 5 kg. The column raises the arms through a metre of travel to a 2 m working height at 150 mm/s, so the robot can reach a belt, a cage or a truck. It runs about 7 hours and charges in 3. Perception is layered: a binocular depth camera in the two-axis head for the wide view, a 3D camera per arm with an 85 by 58 degree field and 0.25 to 2.5 m depth range for grasping, and on the base a lidar, depth camera, ultrasonics, encoders and an IMU for navigation, obstacle avoidance, mapping and self-charging. An NVIDIA Orin AGX supplies 275 TOPS on board. The distinguishing sensor is not on the robot at all: hyperspectral cameras at the head of the conveyor see beyond visible light and tell each unit in the team which item to take. That team arrangement is deliberate. ALPHA is designed to work in groups of at least two, permanently connected to a cloud that reads the central camera and assigns tasks — the opposite of a self-sufficient robot. Training data comes from people: at a Sharp Group plant near London, sorters wear Meta Quest 3 headsets running TeknTrash's HoloLab software, which records hand positions and what they see for replay into ALPHA in LeRobot format using NVIDIA Isaac GR00T. It is sold as a service rather than a machine: £50,000 to implement, a 12-month period with no further fees, then a monthly charge pegged to the wage of the worker it stands beside.
주요 기능
- Humanoid for recycling plants: chest, two arms, head, lifting column, wheeled base
- Two arms with 6 degrees of freedom each and grippers — not suction cups, which clog in waste
- Combined arm payload 5 kg
- Lifting column travels 1 m at up to 150 mm/s, taking the arms to a 2,000 mm working height
- About 7 hours of operation, 3 hours to charge, with automatic charging
- Two-axis head with binocular depth camera
- monocular camera and microphone at about 1,500 mm
- 3D camera per arm: 85 x 58 degree field of view, 0.25-2.5 m depth range
- Base sensing: lidar, depth camera, 2 ultrasonic sensors plus an ultrasonic safety edge, encoder and IMU
- Autonomous navigation, dynamic obstacle avoidance, mapping and self-positioning via API and HTTP
- NVIDIA Orin AGX compute: 2,048 CUDA cores, 64 Tensor cores, 12-core Arm Cortex-A78AE, 275 TOPS
- Hyperspectral cameras at the head of the conveyor allocate items to each robot in the line
- Designed to work in teams of two or more, coordinated from the cloud rather than acting alone
- Trained from human sorters wearing Meta Quest 3 headsets running TeknTrash's HoloLab capture software
- Data replayed in LeRobot format with NVIDIA Isaac GR00T
- Demonstrated beyond waste: folding a towel, hanging clothes, packing a container, handling test tubes, storing dishes
- Robot-as-a-Service: £50,000 implementation, 12 months with no further fees, then a monthly fee matched to a worker's wage
