The INSPECTOR UT/ET Inspection Robot is a customer-specific crawler for ultrasonic and eddy current inspection of weld seams in the pipe systems of nuclear power plants. Its inspection techniques were developed with Kontrolltechnik and Atus. It consists of an inspection module, a drive unit and an end unit holding the control and pneumatic components. The inspection module sits between two rotating flanges and has a sensor arm with a pneumatic stroke for radial sensor movement, a rotation unit with centering, an adjustable axle and a front camera. A flexible bellows joins it to the drive unit, which lets the robot pass bends and be deployed through an open gate valve.
