Cyborg-R01 is built for the jobs that injure people. Shenzhen Cyborg Robot aims it squarely at high-risk, high-load industrial work — new energy, logistics and electrical power are the sectors it names — and the specification follows that brief rather than a general-purpose one. It stands 178 cm and weighs 70 kg, carries 20 kg across two arms, and reaches a peak joint torque of 411 N·m. Sixty-two degrees of freedom is a high count even among full-size humanoids, and they are there to imitate human joint motion closely enough to work in spaces and with tools designed for people. Each hand has sixteen degrees of freedom. Force control resolves to 0.1 N, the company claims an autonomy rate above 90 per cent and a failure rate under 0.1 per cent, and the machine runs about four hours on a charge. Two in-house technologies carry it: OMCI, a whole-body multi-contact intelligent control system, and TendonFlex, a bionic tendon drive — a route to compliance and shock tolerance that most humanoids reach through geared actuators instead. A self-developed intelligent hub the company calls Brobrain handles multi-modal interaction and lets units work as a coordinated group. It made its global debut at the World AI Conference in Shanghai in July 2025 and appeared again at the World Robot Conference in Beijing.
