TWIICE WIITE

説明

WIITE is a version of TWIICE's One exoskeleton that allows people with paraplegia to go ski touring - climbing and travelling through snow on skis in the mountains, powered by the exoskeleton's legs and balanced with poles. It builds on the TWIICE One platform, a light and modular powered lower-limb exoskeleton developed from research at EPFL's Robotic Systems Laboratory and designed around simplicity, robustness and low weight. WIITE shows the modular idea behind TWIICE: rather than one device for every situation, the exoskeleton is adapted to a particular user and activity - here taking a pilot with paraplegia off paved ground and onto a mountain. TWIICE presents WIITE alongside TWIICE One as its two exoskeletons; the company is a development-stage medical robotics start-up in Renens, Switzerland, and WIITE is best read as a demonstration of what the platform can do rather than a product on general sale.
