説明

The CORI Surgical System is Smith+Nephew's handheld robotics platform for joint arthroplasty. The surgeon holds and controls the robotic handpiece, which mills bone precisely to a plan, combining the surgeon's skill with digital surgery applications. It is designed to be portable with a small operating-room footprint, which suits ambulatory surgery centres and outpatient surgery. CORI uses image-agnostic smart mapping to register 3D models of the joint during surgery, with real-time planning for personalised surgery, handheld precision milling and intra-operative gap balancing. Indications include total and partial knee arthroplasty, revision knee - the first system indicated for robotic-assisted revision knee surgery in the US, where image-free mapping avoids distortion from in-situ components - and total hip via RI.HIP NAVIGATION software, which assesses pelvic tilt and predicts the post-operative X-ray. RI.KNEE ROBOTICS software adds AI-powered reference values and surgeon-preferred starting positions. Compared with its predecessor NAVIO, Smith+Nephew cites an ergonomic handpiece with burrs delivering twice the cutting volume and 29 percent faster resection (cadaver studies), and an Atracsys advanced tracking system with a 458 percent faster refresh rate. It launched in July 2020 with FDA 510(k) clearance for total and unicompartmental knee arthroplasty and works with the company's cemented and cementless knee implants and hip systems.
