説明

The M2 is NAVER LABS' mapping robot: a wheeled machine whose whole job is to drive through a building and come back with a precise three-dimensional copy of it. That copy — a digital twin — is what the company's service robots navigate against, and what its augmented-reality and smart-building work is built on. It follows the M1, NAVER's first mapping robot from 2016, and the company describes it as more accurate and usable across a wider range of spaces, thanks to a purpose-built sensor arrangement rather than an off-the-shelf scanner bolted to a base. The robot is a means to an end: NAVER LABS uses the data it gathers to replicate spaces in 3D for robot navigation, AR and VR, and building operations. It is an internal tool rather than a product, and no dimensions or performance figures are published.
