Fori Automation designs, builds and integrates custom high-capacity automated guided vehicles for aerospace, space and heavy industry, sized to fit the customer's tooling footprint and production requirements. They have been used for cockpit, fuselage, spar, panel, centre wing box and wing assembly - including continuously moving aerospace assembly lines, three AGVs for F-35 centre wing box production and synchronised AGVs that lift, level and move wing components up to 110 ft long - as well as for moving aluminium ingots and coils and transporting components and tooling through a nuclear power plant. Capacities reach 250,000 lbs (113,636 kg), with speeds up to 240 ft per minute, magnetic bar, optical or inertial guidance with +/- 5 mm positioning repeatability, low- or high-voltage power with lead-acid, lithium-ion or induction power, Siemens or Rockwell PLC control, onboard safety scanners and bumpers, and an optional vehicle management system for fully automated movement.
