GoMate is GAC's third-generation embodied-intelligence humanoid, unveiled on 26 December 2024, and the thing GAC claims as an industry first is the lower body: a VARIABLE WHEEL-FOOT structure that reconfigures between a four-wheel-foot stance and a two-wheel-foot one. The two modes are genuinely different machines to work with. On four wheel-feet it sits at about 1.4 m and prioritises stability — climbing stairs and slopes, crossing obstacles. Folded up onto two, it stands as tall as 1.75 m, moves more nimbly and takes up less floor. A self-developed whole-body control algorithm coordinates all 38 degrees of freedom across both configurations. Navigation runs on GAC's own pure-vision autonomous-driving stack carried over from its cars, giving autonomous movement, voice recognition and end-effector tracking. Power is GAC's all-solid-state battery pack, quoted at six hours on a charge, and the company claims the variable wheel-foot arrangement cuts energy consumption by more than 80 percent against comparable designs. GAC's stated route to market was pilot deployments across several industries during 2025 and small-volume production in 2026, starting on its own vehicle production lines doing inspection work, then widening to security, healthcare, the automotive aftermarket, logistics and education.
