CARE is built to a hospital's order rather than sold from a catalogue: Roborn developed it for public hospitals specifically to operate clinical devices, which is a narrower and more demanding brief than general ward service. Its arm is purpose-designed to work ventilators and infusion pumps — machines whose controls were designed for human hands — and AI object recognition lets it identify those devices before acting on them. A vision feedback system checks what it has done. Staff drive it from a tablet with a remote camera monitoring system, so a clinician can operate equipment inside a ward without entering it, which is the entire point in an infectious setting. It moves on a UV-AGV base that handles different floor surfaces and disinfects the area around it as it goes, and the control loop runs over 5G.
