The TAGON Shuttle is 3S Robotics' rail-guided storage shuttle that moves goods along rails between racks in automated tote and carton warehouses. A telescopic load extractor - fixed or width-adjustable - with six fingers handles two loads at a time (double-load) and supports single- and double-deep storage, carrying totes, trays, cartons and bundles from 240 x 380 x 70 mm up to 640 x 700 x 190 mm and up to 50 kg, with a fork stroke of up to 950 mm. The shuttle travels at up to 3.2 m/s with 1.5 m/s2 acceleration, positions itself by reading data-matrix codes on the rail, and is powered continuously through a trolley bus with a backup battery. A laser sensor detects objects while driving and an infrared sensor prevents loads from falling, and it communicates over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Combined with lifts, conveyors and 3S Robotics' WMS, racks can be built up to about 15 m high and extended with more rack modules or shuttles as volumes grow; 3S Robotics says the system works twice as fast as a manual warehouse. The shuttle measures 730 x 1,260 x 340 mm and weighs 130 kg.
