HMND 01 Alpha Wheeled is the first robot from Humanoid, the British company registered as SKL Robotics, and the one it built fastest: seven months from start to a working machine, which the company calls the fastest-developed humanoid. It is aimed squarely at industrial use cases rather than demonstrations. It stands 220 cm tall and weighs 300 kg, with 29 degrees of freedom, a 15 kg payload, a top speed of 2 m/s and about four hours of average run time. The base is omnidirectional and wheeled, reaching 7.2 km/h, which is what lets a machine this heavy work at human pace in a warehouse aisle. End-effectors are modular: a 12-degree-of-freedom five-finger hand or a single-degree-of-freedom parallel gripper. The head carries 360-degree RGB cameras and two depth sensors; the torso and wrists add 6D force-torque sensors, wrist RGB cameras, end-effector force-torque sensors and haptic feedback. Interchangeable garments cover the machine for protection and safety. It runs KinetIQ, Humanoid's own four-layer AI stack built on NVIDIA compute, which coordinates fleets of robots across industrial environments; KinetIQ Ascend adds learning from trial and error on real tasks. The company has announced a deal with Schaeffler, joint work with Siemens and NVIDIA, and a completed automotive-manufacturing logistics proof of concept with SAP and Martur Fompak.
