Oceaneering Momentum Electric ROV

Momentum is Oceaneering's next-generation electric work-class ROV, developed from millions of operational hours across its global fleet. Electric propulsion replaces vehicle-level hydraulics, cutting energy demand by up to 45 percent and enabling up to 30 days subsea without maintenance or recovery, while keeping full work-class thrust, lift and payload. It can deploy from the Liberty Resident System, uncrewed surface vessels or conventional vessels. The roughly 4,773 kg vehicle measures 3.3 x 1.6 x 2.0 m and is rated to 3,000 m (4,000 m optional), with an 800 lb (363 kg) payload and 3,500 kg through-frame lift. Four vectored horizontal and four vertical 15 kW thrusters give about 1,018 kgf of forward and lateral and 1,386 kgf of vertical bollard pull. Seventy-two Intelligent Power and Ethernet Modules (iPEMs) on a 1 Gb Ethernet backbone provide plug-and-play power and data, so sensors, tooling and subsystems swap in about an hour, and two manipulators (hydraulic, or optional electric) and 50 kW of hydraulic tooling power handle IMR, survey, construction and drill support. Automation-ready vision includes 360-degree camera coverage, HD pan-and-tilt with 30x zoom and forward stereo HD cameras for Visual Tracking and Positioning, with multi-sensor subsea dynamic positioning, waypoint navigation, auto hover and automated pilot assistance. It is backward compatible with Millennium Plus infrastructure - tethers, cages, umbilicals and launch and recovery systems - needing only a tether retermination to swap.
