BESCHREIBUNG

OPTi5 is a collaborative arm built specifically for welding, which shows in its joints: unlike a standard six-axis cobot it uses a modified axis arrangement that gives the tool cleaner vertical movement, the motion vertical welding actually needs. It carries 5 kg, reaches 1,350 mm with a 900 mm envelope, repeats to 0.1 mm and weighs 34 kg, rated IP54. Joint travel is asymmetric to suit the task — J1, J4 and J6 turn plus or minus 360 degrees while J2 and J3 are limited to 160 and J5 to 180 — at 150 deg/s on the first three joints and 180 deg/s on the wrist, for a 1 m/s tool speed. Neuromeka folds its welding experience into the machine: sensorless collision detection, impedance control and direct teaching come as standard, so a welder rather than a programmer can set it up. The company also aims it at food technology and general factory automation.
