The Kanatokhod Pauk ('Spider') is CableWalker's line-crawling drone for contact cleaning of ice and rime from the conductors and ground wires of 35-500 kV overhead power lines, and for applying anti-icing and anti-corrosion compounds. It can also be fitted with manipulators to trim broken conductor strands and to install bird diverters and marker balls on the line. A coaxial octocopter, it weighs 12 kg without batteries and 20 kg with them, carries a 9 kg payload (maximum take-off mass 29 kg) on four 16,000 mAh 22.2 V batteries, and flies for 28 minutes empty or 16 minutes loaded. On the line it moves at up to 1 m/s and covers up to 2 km per charge; in the air it reaches 22 m/s, with an optimal working radius of 2 km (up to 5 km). It operates from -30 to +50 C in winds up to 10 m/s, is rated for live-line work on 35-220 kV conductors and 35-500 kV ground wires, and measures 1,490 x 1,410 x 610 mm including propellers.
