The Concrete Ceiling Grinding Robot is one of the concrete-dressing robots developed by Bozhilin Robot, the construction-robotics company of Country Garden that markets its machines as Bright Dream Robotics; in North America the dealer ProBuild Robotics sells it as the concrete ceiling polishing robot. It removes defects from cast-in-place concrete ceilings, such as formwork joints, overflow, misalignment and burst points, so the ceiling is flat enough for finishing. The defects are first measured, either with Bright Dream's measuring robot or a handheld tool, and the robot then grinds them automatically with an overhead grinding head while collecting the dust it produces. The operator controls the job from a tablet or mobile phone instead of working overhead, which removes a dusty, high-risk manual task. Bright Dream rates the robot at about twice the efficiency of manual ceiling grinding, with high coverage of the ceiling area and a noticeably flatter finished surface.
