Workerbot4 Concierge (product type WB4CON) is pi4_robotics' reception robot for welcoming, registering, instructing and informing visitors. It notices people arriving in the reception area and greets them with a face on its interactive head and a friendly voice, then guides them through registration by voice while its robot arm and facial expressions support the dialogue. It checks identity by scanning the German national identity card and comparing it with its camera image, recognises returning visitors by face, and - through an interface to the WELCOME visitor-management software, which it requires - checks appointments and tells the host that the guest has arrived. Visitors read and sign safety and data-protection guidelines on its touchscreen, after which it prints a visitor or access card and hands it over with its arm and safety gripper. pi4 says a first registration takes under three minutes; the robot works in many languages and can be bought or rented.
