VEX 123 is an interactive, programmable robot that takes STEM, computer science and computational thinking off the screen for children from pre-kindergarten to around grade 3. The round robot measures about 80 x 80 x 25 mm and comes in red, green or blue, and it drives over a tabletop or floor play field to act out the sequences children build. It can be coded three ways: by pressing the touch-sensitive buttons on top of the robot, by slotting physical coding cards into the VEX Coder, which sends the program to the robot wirelessly without any screen, and with VEXcode 123 block coding on tablets, Chromebooks, Macs and PCs. Its internal lithium iron battery charges over USB-C in about 1.5 hours and lasts a full classroom day.
